The seminar began by introducing the recent history and the current position of Value Management (VM) development in Europe. With his extensive illustration, the participants were able to understand how VM was heavily promoted from the manufacturing sectors to the broad various areas, such as IT, finance, public and construction, in Europe. In addition, the European training and certification VM processes were also illustrated in which the participants could thoroughly understand how individuals are able to be the knowledgeable users, the qualified practitioners and, to a further step, the trainers in VM. Then, Mr. Scott has also made a clear and detailed comparison between the SAVE VM standards and the European VM standards. Towards the end of the seminar, Mr. Scott had shared his view on the changing situation and the future of VM.
