Value Management (VM) is a creative function-oriented organized, team approach , whose objective is to optimize the life cycle cost and/ or performance (quality) of a facility or system. Through applying VM, the customer satisfaction, performance, productivity, quality and time saving of a company can all be enhanced. The effectiveness of VM has been proven over the past 50 years. This seminar was conducted in an interactive approach focusing on enhancing value in facilities by VM.

Guest Speakers

Dr. Stephen J KIRK

Stephen J Kirk is the president of Kirk Associates, which specializes in VE, sustainability, and life cycle costing services. He has over 25 years experience in applying value based design decision making techniques to corporate offices, educational buildings, visitor centers, courthouses, research facilities, and hospitals. He is an instructor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, professional education program. He served as president of SAVE International in 1998-99 and is also a Fellow of SAVE.

Dr. Mei-yung LEUNG

Dr. Leung has more than fifteen years of practical/ teaching experience in the construction industry/ education and has participated in a number of prestigious construction projects in Hong Kong. Dr. Leung is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in the RICS in the UK and the HKIS in HK and a Chartered Builder in the CIOB in the UK and AIB in Australia. She received a BSc (Hons) with first class in Quantity Surveying at the University of Wolverhampton in United Kingdom, a Degree in Religions Science at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome, and a PhD degree at the University of Hong Kong .

During the seminar, they introduced the basic information of Value Management.
