A number of formal documents (WTBC16/1998; Tang2001; WTBC35/2002) strongly recommend a wider adoption of VM techniques in order to achieve an excellence in the quality of construction products.  However, qualified facilitators/co-facilitators are hard to come by in HK.  To enhance the innovative team decision-making management techniques in construction industry, the 1st full VM training workshop (modules I and II) will be arranged in Nov. and Dec 2009 by the Hong Kong Institute of Value Management and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors.  The Module I course teaches VM in a project-based manner.  Participants will engage in “real-time” decision-making using the VM methodologies in the module I, while the Module II teaches VM in an advanced level.

Both courses are approved by SAVE.  Individuals planning to become Certified Value Specialists internationally or qualified co-facilitator in the approved list of the HK government are required to attend.  Upon completion, each participant will be awarded a certificate and eligible to apply the examination (AVS or CVS).
