Project title
Situational Stress–Performance of HK Construction Professionals’ (Oct 2007 – Sept 2009)
supported by Strategic Research Grant
Abstract:
Due to the
recession in HK, a lot of HK construction companies are impelled to expand
their business in new market in recent years. This is further facilitated
by Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement between HK and mainland governments
and the China’s joining the WTO. This change of situations from HK, where
the C-Ps are familiar with, to a place with different decision-making
modes and working styles will present a great challenge to individual
C-Ps. This has had a significant influence on their performances and the
profitability of construction companies. The purpose of this research
is top optimize the performance of HKC-Ps through proactive Situational
Stress Management (SMM). The objective includes identifying situational
stressors and coping behaviours, constructing Situation Stress-Performance
relationships for optimizing the performance of HKC-Ps.
