Project title

Improving Value Management Practice via International VM Study Process and Qualification System (Apr 2007 – Sept 2008)
supported by Professional Services Development Assistance Scheme (PSDAS), Commerce, Industry and Technology Bureau, Hong Kong Special Administration Region, and the Hong Kong Institute of Value Management


Abstract:

Various international VM societies applied their particular VM qualification systems, while Hong Kong has not yet established their own VM qualification and specific VM study process. Therefore, there are <italic> various VM process, period and techniques that are currently being applied </italic> in the industry in Hong Kong. In order to systematize the overall VM process and update innovative VM techniques for dynamic external environment and complicated construction projects, a systematic VM process and qualification systems are required for construction professionals in Hong Kong. The aim of the proposed project is to <strong> improve the VM practice (study process and qualification system) for construction professionals in HK so as to enhance the competitiveness of professional services in a regional context </strong>. Through this project, construction professionals (including Arch., Eng., BSE, QS, etc.) can understand the VM processes and professional qualification systems internationally.
